In close cooperation with your team, our experts will migrate a pilot application to Kubernetes and elaborate a tailor-made roadmap for a factory migration approach to accelerate cloud native adoption. Our experienced architects will provide you with strategic and operational guidance at all stages of the process to avoid common pitfalls and ensure a successful and smooth implementation.
Cloud Native Labs Application Migration Accelerator covers five engagement phases:
Explore -> Design -> Migrate -> Operate -> Scale
1. Explore
Our architects engage with your team to review your use case and align your requirements and current stack with the development and deployment of cloud native applications.
Typical Activities
- Architecture review and definition of project setup and timeline
- Identification of possible skill gaps and, if needed, creation of a training plan
Deliverables
- Review summary
- Project outline
- High level application migration plan
2. Design
During a series of workshops, our architects advise and support your team in developing an architecture design for migrating applications to Kubernetes.
Typical Activities
- Definition of architecture design and hosting model, reflecting your requirements i.a. regarding availability, manageability, performance, storage, and networking
- Evaluation of possibilities for automation
Deliverables
- Summary document including recommended architecture design and hosting model
- Initial architecture overview
- Migration checklist
3. Migrate
During an on-site engagement, our engineers work closely with your team to pilot a first migration of your application.
Typical Activities
- Implementation of the first pilot application migration
- Continuous review of development and architecture
- As needed, delivery of training programs (not included)
Deliverables
- Defined in the Explore and Design phase
- Progress document
- Initial test and execution plan
4. Operate
Cloud Native Labs architects conduct a series of review activities to ensure that the application is effectively operated. Our engineers also provide support for day-to-day operations questions.
Typical Activities
- Review of logging, metrics and capacity utilization and evaluation of operations best practices for your use case
- As needed, delivery of training programs (not included)
Deliverables
- Operation improvements summary
- Guide for logging and monitoring
5. Scale
This engagement stage focuses on creating a roadmap on how to massively migrate applications into containers and run them on Kubernetes.
Typical Activities
- Create a roadmap for application migration
- Deployment of the first concept to migrate applications in a factory approach
- Identification of possible skill gaps and, if needed, creation of training plan
Deliverables
- First factory concept
- Training plan
